Frogs Always Get You in the End (by Ian Ruthven)

Once upon a time, upon a lily-pad in the middle of a sparkling pond, there lived a large, green frog.

One hot summer’s day, a princess set sail across the pond. As she glided past the lily-pad, the frog raised his head and called to her.

"Kiss me," said the frog, "upon my forehead, and I will turn into a handsome prince."

"Not likely," replied the princess, wrinkling her nose, "I rule my own kingdom, I lead my own armies into battle, I make my own laws. I need no prince, handsome or otherwise. What else do you have to offer?"

"Kiss me," said the frog, "upon my forehead, and I will grant you great fortunes."

"I think not," snorted the princess. "I maintain a balanced budget with good economic growth and sensible interest rates. Your great riches will devalue my currency, send inflation soaring and cripple our exchange rates. Is that the best you have to offer?"

"Kiss me," said the frog, "upon my forehead, and I will grant you dazzling beauty."

"How very flattering," sneered the princess. "I may be plain but beauty does not last. Personality counts."

"What do you want then?" demanded the frog, used to altogether more old-fashioned princesses.

The princess thought hard, and leaned close.

"I want to be happy," she whispered, and kissed the frog upon his forehead.

"You refused love, riches, beauty, and yet you want happiness from kissing a frog! This isn’t a fairy tale you know," laughed the frog, diving clean into the clear, blue pond.

After reading that for the very first time, gw realize klo tnyata tuh short story ngegambarin sifat manusia yang ngga pernah puas… emang bener sih kaya gitu… hufff…. anyway… gw capek niey… kenyang banget… udah gitu gw belum nyentuh tugas satupun niey weekend… hoaa… should get started… hope i can do anything useful this weekend…

huff… 2day i went 2 pim… a day full dari jam 11 ampe jam 6an gt… it was exhausting… tapi enak coz dateng2 langsung ditraktir sammy di pronto… kenyang mampus… thx samm… trus abis itu rame2 foto studio… lamaaaa banget disono… sambil nungguin fotonya kita2 foto box berkali2… hoaa… capek banget bolak balik desek2an masuk ke fotobox… udha gitu gw nonton narnia be2 ama fefe… akhirnya gw nonton jugha stelah dari dulu kaga sempet2 nonton narnia… si diera kaga jadi ikut nonton… gimana si lo dee… katanya mo nonton bareng… filmnya keren sie… gak kalah ama harry potter… trus abis itu ke hero… ke gramed… ke point break… beli dinner… balik… capek gw… oiya, mana waktu di bus, udha ketiduran kursi gw tiba2 ampir copot githu… damn… kebangun ngga enak trus pindah dhe gw… takut tuh kursi copot beneran kan jatoh gw… hahaha…

truss… banyak banget tugas weekend gw niey… gila sempet2nya gitu gw ngepost blog niey… abisnya gw udha cape kaga tawu mo ngerjain yg mana dulu… it’s ranging from SAT stuff which i have to do again this january ampe report CAS yang kaga penting… huff… melelahkan… basically stuff that i have to submit this month… hoaaa…

hduh… really need to have some rest or do some works niey… duhduhduh… banyak banget seh!!

huff… finally an update after a long break… sebulan lebih sehari dari post gw yg terakhir last december… lots of things happened in a mere 30 days… some sad some goood… hahaha…

let’s start with the thing that concerned me the most. My december SAT score malahan turun 30 pts dari yang october… jadi 1650… damn. Kok bisa yah… gw nyesel n ngerasa ngga enak banget ama bonyok.. as usual disemprot abis2an… esp nyokap… hhhh… finally i decided to take the january… and this one will SURELY be the last one.. hahaha… i promise i’ll study and hopefully i’ll get better marks than those of before… i should…

then.. spent christmas n new year’s eve with ma family… christmas ngga ke luar kota… cuma new year di jogja… masi disini ampe sekarang… it’s nice… n the greatest christmas plus new year’s gift i’ve ever get make this perfect…. finally a new laptop… sony vaio 10.6" wideXGA… sooo satisfying… hahaha…

if good things above didn’t happen, it may be the worst holiday ever in my life… lots n lots of assignments… ranging from the re-do (or more precisely: re-write plus some little stupid parts of ‘the use of technology’) Math IA, DT project, Indo WL, hduh.. banyak jugha yang laennya… pusing nie gw mikirinnya.. yang jelas TOK Essay gw first draft udha kelar n i’m glad of it. hehehe… but anyhow i’d better finish some other stuff….

this holidae ktemu tmen2 smp gw… spent time together with them… so happy to see them… hahaha… nginep di rumah tmen gw Yohan… jalan bareng… hehehe… it was really fun… sayang banyak yang cabut sndiri2… lebih sayang lagi sbenernya that i cannot spent new year’s eve with them…

talking bout new year, i surely have goals for this year… mostly contains of academic stuff, trus ada jugha some particular personal stuff.. hahaha.. yah hope i can fulfill those goals by the end of this year… sayangnya in the end of this year… which is  361 days remaining.. i’ll be in other school in other place…. leaving my friends…. n wondering where n when i’ll meet them again… lah… ntar dulu dhe… kan itu bakal kejadian ntar 361 days ahead… hehehe…

truss… talkin bout friends n skool, i’m lookin forward to see my friends back at school next wed or thu… althou bakalan banyak tugas n assignment and makin deket ke IB exam…. hduh… gw ntar gmana yah exam?? halah…. ntaran dulu kali yah… mendingan spend the last days of the holiday n ‘breathe’ for now… ‘breathe’ a little more b4 the nastily exhausting second semester of twelve grade begins… hahaha…

Last but not least, wishing everyone of y’all a belated merrier 2005 christmas n a happier 2006 new year!! all the best for all of us this year!!
